A surprising incident has come to light in a branch of Bank of Baroda in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Where an amount of Rs 18 lakh kept in the bank locker got infested by termites. The locker was kept closed by the owner for a long time. When the bank locker was opened and seen, the owner was shocked. All the money kept in the locker was infested by termites. The locker owner has suffered a loss of Rs 18 lakh due to termite infestation.
The locker owner has complained about this incident to the bank manager, accusing him of negligence. After this there was panic in the bank. At the same time, now this entire matter is being investigated by the bank.
Jewelery and 18 lakh cash kept in bank locker in the year 2022
In fact, Alka Pathak, a resident of Ashiana in the Ramganga Vihar branch of Bank of Baroda in the district, had kept Rs 18 lakh in the locker along with jewelery for her daughter’s wedding in 2022. When the locker was opened in 2023, Rs 18 lakh was found to be infested with termites. Only jewelery was kept in the bank locker. Alka Pathak has suffered a loss of Rs 18 lakh due to termite infestation.
Bank called for agreement renewal
Locker owner Alka Pathak came to know about this entire incident when she was called for agreement renewal and KYC verification. Then when Alka Pathak opened her locker, she was shocked. Termites had cost Rs 18 lakh. Then locker owner Alka Pathak has complained against the bank manager accusing him of negligence. On this matter, the branch manager of Bank of Baroda told the woman that the matter has been investigated and a report has been sent. Information will be shared after the report comes.
Had deposited money for second daughter’s marriage
Let us tell you that Alka Yadav has a small business. She runs a bedding supply business in the city. She also gives tuition to children. His elder daughter got married some time ago. She wanted to marry her second younger daughter with the capital she had accumulated from her business earnings. Regarding this, in October 2022, he had kept Rs 18 lakh in cash and jewelery in the bank locker.
