On the website of the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission, the names of famous poets Akbar Allahabadi, Noor Narbi, Tegh Allahabadi, Shabnam Naqvi and Rashid Allahabadi were found written in Prayagraj instead of Allahabad. The commission says that such tampering was done by targeting the website by hackers.
Allahabad: After a strange change in the names of famous litterateurs on the website of the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission, the commission has claimed that hackers allegedly targeted its website on Tuesday and tampered with the names of many litterateurs.
However, the commission says that it corrected the names of the litterateurs after some time.
UP govt also changed Allahabadi takhallus (pen-name) of poets into Prayagraj. On its website, UP Higher Education Services Commission wrote the names of Akbar Allahabadi, Rashid Allahabadi and Tegh Allahabadi as Akbar Prayagraj, Rashid Prayagraj and Tegh Prayagraj. pic.twitter.com/kTHa0P1KLy

Professor Ishwar Sharan Vishwakarma, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission, said, ‘The website of the commission was hacked and the names of litterateurs were tampered with. However, the website has been restored and the incident is being reported to the Cyber Crime Branch.
He clarified that the change in the names of litterateurs has not been done by the commission.
The information given about Allahabad in the website of the commission has written about famous poets and litterateurs of the city, including famous poets Syed Akbar Hussain alias Akbar Allahabadi, Noor Narbi, Tegh Allahabadi, Shabnam Naqvi and Rashid Allahabadi. Where according to the commission, Akbar Allahabadi was transferred to Akbar Prayagraj, Tej Allahabadi to Teg Prayagraj and Rashid Allahabadi to Rashid Prayagraj while doing alleged hacking.
Now these names have been corrected in both the Hindi-English version of the website. However, before Tuesday evening, it was mocked and criticized on social media.
It is noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath changed the name of Allahabad city to Prayagraj in 2018 before Kumbh 2019.
The city’s litterateur and journalist Dhananjay Chopra, reacting in this matter, said that the city Allahabad is recorded in the pages of history and the city’s litterateurs lived this city and took pride in adding Allahabadi in front of their name.
He said that it is like changing history.
