Work from home became very important after the arrival of the Corona epidemic. Lockdown was imposed by the government. Due to this, the business of all the people stopped. Even people started being fired from jobs. However, then came work from home, the work which could have been done without going to office, was allowed to be done from home. This brought a lot of relief to the people, but the cost of the house also increased. Now the government is going to release the general budget on February 1, in which some relief can be given to those doing work from home.
During WFH, the cost of internet or telephone all increases. Along with this, the electricity bill also increases significantly due to running of AC and heater. Now in the meantime, the people receiving salary are expecting something for themselves in this budget. According to the report, in England, the government has given the gift of additional exemption to the salaried employees working from home. The people of India are also expecting something similar.
Apart from this, Deloitte India has also recommended that the employees working from home in the budget should be given the benefit of additional deduction in the form of work from home allowance of Rs 50,000.
At the same time, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has also said that expenditure incurred on furniture etc. for work from home, etc., should be specially brought under the purview of exemption. It also asked to increase the additional deduction.
