New Delhi: After the IPL, the thrill is at its peak in the T20 Blast tournament being played in England. Stormy all-rounders from all over the world have rocked in many matches, but now a big setback has come to the fore for the whole team. West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the T20 Blast tournament. He is expected to be fit in time to play in the Hundred tournament following knee surgery.
Pollard, 35, was the first player to be signed for Surrey along with his compatriot and close friend Sunil Narine as one of their two overseas players, but suffered a knee injury at the start of their T20I season.

“Despite treatment, he has failed to improve and it was therefore decided to seek a surgical opinion,” Surrey said in a statement. “He has had a successful surgery this Tuesday morning, which will keep him out of the game for the next four to six weeks.”
99 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 141.42
Surrey have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Blast, with four group-stage matches remaining. Pollard scored 99 runs in his five innings at a strike rate of 141.42, taking one wicket and one catch. “It’s very disappointing because we’ve been a major force and I felt like I was part of something special,” Pollard said. I wish everyone all the best for the rest of the campaign. I want to keep myself fit.”
Pollard retired from international cricket earlier this year. He was signed by the London Spirit at a Hundred Draft for £125,000. He is expected to return in time to play for him when the tournament begins in early August.
