Darbhanga Airport
On November 8, the 3-year agreement of SpiceJet aircraft from Darbhanga airport was completed. After completion of the agreement, the people of Mithilanchal are demanding to start services of other airlines from Darbhanga Airport. Their demand is that the launch of other airlines will bring competition and the public will get a lot of relief from the arbitrary attitude and expensive fares of SpiceJet company.
SpiceJet Airlines’ contract with Darbhanga Airport ended on 8 November 2023. For the last 3 years, air travel from Darbhanga to Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai was the responsibility of only SpiceJet aircraft. In such a situation, the expectations of the people of Mithilanchal have increased that now other airlines will also fly from Darbhanga.
Passengers hope there will be a reduction in fares
People allege that by purchasing expensive tickets, people were forced to become victims of SpiceJet’s arbitrariness. Now when the three-year agreement of SpiceJet is about to end on 8th November. Now people traveling by plane hope that other airlines will also be able to start their air services from Darbhanga Airport. When more airlines provide services from here, competition will increase. The benefit of this will be that there will be a reduction in air ticket fares, which will provide a lot of relief to the passengers.
The passenger said, if the service has not started then…
For this, the people of Mithilanchal are demanding from the Central Government and their public representatives to start flights of airlines other than SpiceJet. Along with this, they are demanding to get rid of the exorbitantly expensive air travel tickets of SpiceJet. Passenger Randhir Kumar is even saying that if the services of other airlines are not started from Darbhanga after the end of the agreement, then he will not travel from Darbhanga airport. Darbhanga Airport Director Satyendra Jha said that at present he has no information about this matter, nor has any kind of departmental information been received.
