    Accidents occurred due to these devices

    According to a report published in the Indian Express, the traffic police have installed Red Light Violation Detection (RLVD), Over Speed ​​Violation Detection (OSVD) cameras, Violation on Camera App (VOCA) and radar guns or interceptors at major intersections of Delhi’s roads. Since monitoring has been done, there has been a reduction in accidents and subsequent deaths.

    Accidents decreased by 19 percent

    The report states that in the first phase, where 25 OSVD cameras were installed, a decline in fatal accidents was seen. It has been said in the report that there has been a reduction of about 19 percent in fatal accidents here. 60 percent reduction in accidents has been recorded on Dev Prakash Shastri Road.

    The report states that after the installation of 100 OSVD cameras in the second phase, a further reduction in accidents was seen. The highest number of 61 fatal accidents was recorded on the Outer Ring Road between September 1, 2019, and February 29, 2020, while after the installation of OSVD, there was a 34 percent reduction between February 1, 2020, and August 31.
