What is religious belief?
According to religious belief, it is said about the Siddhanath temple of Lord Bholenath in Kanpur that if the crow had not thrown the bone in the yagya being conducted here, then the place would have been called Kashi. The history of this temple situated on the banks of Mother Ganga, the giver of salvation, dates back to Treta Yuga. It is said about the Shivalinga located here that this Shivalinga was excavated during the reign of King Yayati, after which it was proved.
What about in the second phase?
This place did not get the privilege of being the first Kashi because during the last of the 100 Yagyas performed by King Yayati, a crow had thrown a bone into the Havan Kund. Due to which it missed becoming Kashi. But after 99 yagyas have been performed, this temple has got the status of second Kashi. At present, after Baba Vishwanath of Banaras, the corridor of Siddhanath Sarkar of Kanpur is going to be built due to which there is a lot of happiness among the devotees. According to the plan, the second phase includes construction of roads leading to the temple, four-laning of the roads leading to the temple as well as beautification of the main gate.
