He said that ‘Operation Dhar’ was carried out successfully. The channel which was first prepared on the banks of Karam Dam, later the width of that channel was gradually increased to seven meters and then to 10 meters. As the water pressure increased, the width of the channel increased and finally all the water was removed from the 40 meter wide section.
First of all, Industries Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Dattigaon explained all the technical aspects done to stop the leakage of the dam. Understand step by step how this operation was carried out?
1- Rajyavardhan Singh Dattigaon, Industries Minister
Question- How did you guys run the operation, which prevented the disaster.
answer- There was 15 MCM water in the dam, in which about 4 MCM water is now left. The water level has come down from 297 meters to 281 meters. The departmental ministers are here, who will hoist the flag tomorrow. Step by step work was done under the direction of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Many congratulations to our Chief Engineer Dabur Sahab and congratulations to his technical team. When we cut one by one meter at night, many people had doubts that what would happen? The administrative officers were worrying what you are doing. Why is it taking so long, but MS Dabur persisted very patiently.
This morning we started increasing the width, even then there was doubt in everyone’s mind that it is not right, but after doing aerial survey we were sure that we are doing right. We increased the width to 7 meters and increased the depth to 3 meters. There was a hill rock on the main road to the dam, which broke it. The flow of water was beneficial and he removed the stone himself. Then we got a breakaway of 7 by 5, nature also supported and there was minimum damage in the dam.
Now the final cutout of 40 meters has come, which will be made by the team of engineers after the monsoon. The entire technical team deserves congratulations. Dabur Saheb is the hero of today’s entire movement. We are also grateful to Vivek Tripathi ji, who came on behalf of the central government. A very senior person did a complete assessment of the dam in a normal way. We express our gratitude to him on behalf of the whole of Madhya Pradesh.
2- Tulsi Silavat, Minister of Water Resources
Question- Now what will be your next step, it was a very responsible task?
answer- I have formed a team of experts. I will review each point. Good thing today that no one was hurt. Everyone deserves congratulations for this. As the head of the department, I would like to congratulate both the ministers and the entire staff. The strategy made under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was successful. Rajyavardhan Singh Dattigaon said that many congratulations and gratitude to the ENC of our Water Resources Department, their entire team, police officers and collectors. A big challenge was before us. The Chief Minister was taking cognizance of every single incident every moment, every moment. It is the result of that that has got this happy opportunity. I am grateful to the ministers and officials that they worked in this spirit of coordination.
3- Prabhuram Choudhary, Minister in charge
Question- Prabhuram Choudhary ji you are the minister in charge, how are you seeing the whole mission?
answer- The strategy made by all our colleagues and the administration team, to drain the water, today you are seeing it successful. The water was drained out safely today. There was no problem. We had already alerted the people. Now everyone will reach their respective homes. I would congratulate everyone. Everyone applauded for the ENC MS Dabur of the Water Resources Department and the rest of the administration, army, NDRF and other teams engaged in this mission.
