At a time when the whole country was celebrating the ‘Pran Pratistha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee heated up the situation by making a big and controversial statement. Addressing an all-faith rally in Kolkata, Abhishek Banerjee said, remove these religious glasses because some people say that Hindus are in danger, some people say that Muslims are in danger. I say remove the religious glasses and see that the whole of India is in danger. Actually, Banerjee’s entire target was against the opposition parties.

TMC national general secretary appealed to the people to vote on the basis of the party’s performance in terms of religion. He said that vote for anyone, be it BJP or Congress… vote not in the name of religion but in the name of work, vote in the name of 100 days’ money. He further said that today is a day of pride for Bengal, where the entire country is engaged in religious programs.
