New Delhi: Officials said the construction work of the Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya is going on in full swing and the second phase of its foundation will be ready by the end of January.
Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, told media persons, “Part of the foundation has been completed. Work is going on for the second foundation, which will be completed within the month of January.” He further informed that the construction work of the temple is going on round the clock.
Recently, a 3D animation film depicting the ongoing construction work of Ram temple in Ayodhya was released online. Rai said, “Through YouTube, we have tried to show the ongoing construction work of the Ram temple with the help of a 3D film.”
The main temple is being built on a total area of 2.7 acres while the total built up area is 57,400 square feet. The length of the temple will be 360 feet and the width will be 235 feet. The total height of the temple including the shikhara will be 161 feet and it will have three storeys, each 20 feet in height.
The general secretary of the trust said that around 17,000 stones of 5 feet length, 3 feet width and 2.5 feet height can be used in the construction of the temple. Earlier on August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
On November 9, 2019, The Supreme Court of India delivered a landmark verdict in the decades-old Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute. A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor of Ram Lalla and handed over the entire disputed land to a trust, which was set up by the government.
