Jaipur: On December 21, some unknown miscreants attacked an RTI activist in Barmer district of Rajasthan and hit a nail in his feet. The police gave this information on Wednesday (22 December).
Taking cognizance of the activist’s complaint, State Human Rights Commission Chairman Gopal Krishna Vyas on Wednesday issued notices to the Director General of Police, Udaipur Excise Commissioner, Barmer District Collector and District Superintendent of Police, asking them to submit a report in the matter by December 28. .
According to news agency PTI, Amra Ram Godara was attacked on December 21 in his native village Pareyu and his condition is critical.

Barmer Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava said that in connection with the attack on Amra Ram, an FIR has been registered against unknown people at Gida police station.
He told, ‘Amra Ram had made a complaint against the illegal liquor business, on the basis of which the illegal liquor was seized some time ago after taking action. On Tuesday (21 December) he was attacked by some people, in which he was seriously injured. He was referred to Jodhpur. The seriousness of the injuries will be clear after the medical report comes.
Superintendent of Police Bhargava visited the village on Wednesday and formed separate teams to identify and arrest the accused.
“Prima facie, those people who are involved in illegal trade are behind the attack,” he said.
Another activist, Oma Ram Banjara Chotiya, a resident of Pali, on Wednesday sent a complaint on behalf of the aggrieved activist to the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission along with some photographs of the injuries and alleged that the accused had kidnapped her, thrashed her badly and hit her with nails. Gave.
Banjara said the victim Godara had complained about alleged irregularities in development works in Kumpalia gram panchayat in Barmer besides illegal liquor traders.
He alleged that the role of the local police and excise officials should be probed in the matter.
Barmer Superintendent of Police (SP) Deepak Bhargava said, “Godara was attacked yesterday (December 21) and was referred to Jodhpur with serious injuries. The exact nature of their injuries will be known only after the medical report comes.
The SP said, ‘He had complained against the illegal liquor trade, after which action was taken and some time back the illegal liquor was seized.’
According to Times Now, Godara said in his complaint that he was abducted and attacked by six unidentified persons earlier. Godara had also said that he had received threats on social media regarding his anti-liquor activities.
Police have detained some suspects in this regard.
