The number of deaths due to drinking poisonous liquor in Haryana has increased to 18. Six people died in Yamunanagar in the last 24 hours. Earlier, 10 people had died after drinking poisonous liquor in Yamunanagar. Overall, 16 people have died so far in Yamunanagar due to consumption of this poisonous liquor. There is news of death of two people in Ambala. Police have so far arrested seven people in this case.
Yamunanagar’s Additional SP Himadri Kaushik said that seven people have already been arrested in this case. During interrogation, names of some more people have come to light and they will also be arrested soon. We have visited the villages and informed the villagers about this unfortunate incident. Yamunanagar Police has formed a special investigation team to investigate this matter.

The culprits will not be spared – Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal
Meanwhile, Haryana Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal said that the culprits will not be spared in this case and strict action will be taken against them. He said that the police is investigating this matter.
Opposition parties attack Khattar government
On the other hand, opposition parties targeted the Khattar government. In Haryana, opposition parties Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) strongly criticized the Khattar government over the deaths of people due to drinking poisonous liquor. He said that such incidents have happened before due to consumption of poisonous liquor but the state government has failed to learn a lesson from it.
