Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee will be produced in the court in a few hours. The Enforcement Directorate or ED was interrogating him in his custody for the last 10 days in the SSC corruption case. That custody ended on Wednesday. ED will request to increase the custody of Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee. ED officials are constantly alleging that Partha Chatterjee is not cooperating in the investigation. In such a situation, Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee will get jail again or will get bail. All eyes are fixed on this.
Former state minister Partha Chatterjee and his ‘close’ Arpita Mukherjee were arrested by ED officials on April 23. Earlier, the ED’s search operation at Partha Chatterjee’s house continued for 27 hours. From there, the ED started a search of Arpita’s flat after getting several documents of property in the name of Arpita Mukherjee. Crores of rupees were recovered from there.
Arrest was made in SSC corruption case
The envelopes of the state education department were also found with Arpita Mukherjee. ED says Arpita Mukherjee is ‘close’ to Partha Chatterjee and is involved in SSC corruption. After this, the ED arrested Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee and took them in custody for 10 days for questioning, whose term ends on Wednesday. According to ED sources, many questions were asked to Partha Chatterjee in these ten days, but no satisfactory answer was received. It is learned that Partha Chatterjee has indicated to the ED that he will tell everything when the time comes, but according to ED sources, that ‘time’ did not come till the end of the ten-day custody. In such a situation, while waiting for the right time, the ED can ask for more time from the court.
Will be produced in ED’s special court today
Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee will be produced in a special ED court on Wednesday. The special court judge had directed Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee to appear before the court on August 3. Investigators alleged, ‘Both Parth and Arpita are trying to mislead the investigation. According to sources, despite having important and specific documents, Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee are using various tactics to mislead the investigators during their interrogation. According to investigators, not only Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee but many influential people are involved in corruption in recruitment. Therefore, it is necessary to take both those people into custody again and further interrogation. For this reason, the ED can apply to take Parth and Arpita on remand and interrogate them.
