In response to BJP’s Hindutva, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has played the reservation card before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Reservation Amendment Bill was passed in Bihar on Thursday. According to this bill, now 75 percent reservation will be implemented in Bihar. Now it is believed that this step has not only demoralized the opponents but the stature of Nitish Kumar in the INDIA alliance has increased a lot.
The big thing is that even though BJP wants to fight the Lok Sabha elections on Hindutva, it cannot oppose reservation. Because in today’s times, going against reservation would be political murder of oneself. In such a situation, it is obvious that it will not be easy for the opposition party BJP to counter this move of Nitish.
Big comeback in alliance
At the same time, Nitish Kumar was seen marginalized in the India alliance formed for the Lok Sabha elections. But once again he seems to be making a comeback in the alliance with a bang. Advocacy for reservation
However, Congress, which has been doing politics against reservation, has also changed its strategy since the Karnataka elections. Rahul Gandhi is seen advocating caste census and OBC reservation at every opportunity. He has already talked about increasing the scope of reservation and giving more participation to Dalits and backward people in government jobs. Apart from this, Congress has also promised to conduct caste census in the election states. It is also expected that in some Congress ruled states, like Bihar, a proposal to increase the scope of reservation can also be passed.
Opposition’s biggest bet
In such a situation, this will be the biggest bet of the opposition before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that according to sources, Nitish Kumar will now try to present the Bihar model on reservation in the entire country. He will try to show that he did what he said. He conducted caste census, and then also worked on giving reservation on the basis of the number of people.
