Khandva: As a religious city and spirituality, Omkareshwar of Madhya Pradesh is now ready to create history here. A 108 feet high statue of Adi Shankaracharya made of Ashtadhatu will be installed in Omkareshwar. This statue will be installed on a high platform. It is being told that the height of this platform will be 54 feet.
Let us tell you that the company which has contributed in making buildings like Sardar Patel’s Statue of Unity and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the same company will be entrusted with the task of making this statue. The meeting of the Board of Trustees of Shankaracharya Cultural Unity Trust was held in Bhopal on Saturday in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In this, there was a discussion regarding the statue of Shankaracharya, the museum and the International Advaita Vedanta Institute. During this a presentation of the entire project was given. This information was given by Usha Thakur, Minister in charge of Tourism and Khandwa, who reached Khandwa.
Minister Usha Thakur said that on the lines of Akshar Dham of Delhi, Acharya Shankar Nyas for propagation of Vedanta philosophy, all the arrangements of Sanatan were based on all traditions like science, on which basis we were Jagatguru, with all those beautiful arrangements etc. Omkareshwar, the land of knowledge of Shankaracharya, will be developed into a global center of Advaita Vedanta.
It has been named the Statue of Oneness ‘STATUE OF ONENESS’ i.e. “Statue of Unity”. Architectural consultant has been appointed to prepare detailed project report for other works including statue installation.
Minister Usha Thakur said that there would be an International Advaita Vedanta Institute, an international research centre, reference center and coordination centre. Seven Kendras (Schools) are being established under the Institute. The seven centers are Acharya Hastamalak Advaita Vigyan Kendra, Acharya Sureshwar Advaita Social Science Center, Acharya Totak Advaita Music and Arts Center, Maharishi Vedavas Advaita Granthalaya, Acharya Gaudapada Advaita Extension Center and Acharya Govind Bhagavatpad Advaita Gurukulam. In these, a glimpse of different monasteries and peeths in different forms will also be seen.
