Lakhimpur Kheri: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday filed a chargesheet in the court against all the 14 accused, including Ashish, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Teni’, in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
The chargesheet pertains to the alleged murder of four farmers and a journalist after being rammed by vehicles during the violence on October 3 last year.
This is the first chargesheet in this violence case. The car of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Teni’ was reportedly part of a convoy of vehicles that were rammed on him during a farmers’ march against agricultural laws.
Senior Prosecution Officer SP Yadav told in Lakhimpur Kheri that the SIT has filed a 5,000-page charge-sheet in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram.
He said that the name of another accused named Virendra Kumar Shukla has been included in the charge sheet. In this way the number of accused in the case has increased to 14.
According to the report of Indian Express, the name of Virendra Kumar Shukla has come on the charge of erasing evidence. Sources said Shukla is a distant relative of Ajay Kumar Mishra and the block chief and the SIT has sent him a notice.
Yadav told that the main accused in this case, along with Ashish, Ankit Das (nephew of former Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Das), Nandan Das Bisht, Satyam Tripathi alias Satya Prakash Tripathi, Latif alias Kale, Shekhar Bharti, Sumit Jaiswal, Ashish Pandey, The accused named Lavkush Rana, Shishupal, Ullas Kumar Trivedi alias Mohit Trivedi, Rinku Rana and Dharmendra Kumar Banjara have been arrested.
Yadav told that in this case the SIT had to file the charge sheet within 90 days.

Ashish’s bail plea is pending in the High Court, while others have applied for bail in the local court.
The SIT had recently filed a report in a local court terming the violence as a “planned conspiracy”. It said the killings were “not caused by negligence” and that the actions of the accused were “deliberately intended to kill”. On the request of the SIT, the court had added charges of attempt to murder and voluntarily causing grievous hurt against the accused.

Gurvinder Singh (22 years), Daljit Singh (35 years), Nakshatra Singh and Lovepreet Singh, besides journalist Raman Kashyap were among the dead farmers after being crushed by the vehicle.
Three people, including two BJP workers, were lynched by a mob after a group of protesting farmers were crushed by an SUV convoy.
They were identified as BJP workers – Shubham Mishra (26 years) and Shyam Sundar (40 years) and Hariom Mishra (35 years), the driver of the SUV of the Union Minister of State.
Two FIRs were registered in this regard at Tikunia police station.
The first FIR was lodged by a farmer Jagjit Singh in the death of four farmers and a journalist, in which he had accused Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home and 15 to 20 others.
The second FIR was registered in connection with the death of two BJP workers and a driver during violence after BJP worker Sumit Jaiswal rammed farmers with a vehicle, in which he had accused unidentified persons. After this SIT was formed to investigate the matter.
