New Delhi: According to the fourth health index of NITI Aayog, among the large states, Kerala has once again topped the health sector on all parameters, while Uttar Pradesh is at the bottom. The period 2019-20 (reference year) has been taken into account in the fourth health index.

The report prepared by the government think tank NITI Aayog states that Tamil Nadu and Telangana rank second and third respectively on health parameters.

The report said that Uttar Pradesh has achieved the highest position in incremental performance. According to the report, Uttar Pradesh has registered the highest growth change from the base year (2018-19) to the reference year (2019-20).

Rajasthan as a whole and in terms of growth underperformed. This report has been prepared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with technical assistance from the World Bank.

In the case of smaller states, Mizoram and Tripura recorded strong overall performance as well as showed improvement in growth related performance, the report said.

As per the report, the Health Index is a comparative composite score consisting of 24 indicators covering key aspects of health performance. The health index includes selected indicators of three areas โ€“ health outcomes, governance and information, and key inputs and processes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the Yogi Adityanath government of the state over the poor performance of Uttar Pradesh in the health index released by NITI Aayog.

UP at the bottom in terms of health and medicine in NITI Aayog’s ‘Health Index’! This is the true report of the BJP government of UP. Truth cannot be changed by publishing false advertisements all over the world.

People will give answer in twenty two to those who spoil the health of UP.

    UP says today
    don’t want BJP

    โ€” Akhilesh Yadav (@yadavakhilesh) December 27, 2021

Yadav tweeted on Monday, ‘UP (Uttar Pradesh) is at the bottom in terms of health and medicine in the Health Index of NITI Aayog. This is the true report of the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh. Truth cannot be changed by publishing false advertisements all over the world.

Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, said in the same tweet, ‘People will answer in twenty two to those who spoil the health of Uttar Pradesh. UP should say today’s, not BJP.’
