Raipur Police of Chhattisgarh said that Kalicharan Maharaj has been arrested from near Khajuraho city of Madhya Pradesh. During his speech at the two-day ‘Dharma Sansad’ program in Raipur on December 26, Kalicharan Maharaj had allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Father of the Nation and praised his assassin Nathuram Godse.

Raipur District Superintendent of Police Prashant Agarwal said on Thursday that the Raipur Police arrested Kalicharan Maharaj in the early hours. They have been arrested from a rented house near Bageshwar Dham, about 25 km from Khajuraho city of Madhya Pradesh.
Agarwal told that Kalicharan Maharaj would be brought to Raipur by road by evening.

A case was registered against Kalicharan on December 26 for abusing Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament of Religions held at Ravanabhatha Maidan in Raipur.

Milind Ekbote is an accused in the 2018 violence in Koregaon-Bhima of Pune district. He was arrested for making provocative speeches before the bicentenary celebrations of the Battle of Bhima-Koregaon.
