According to the information given by the Income Tax Department, now you will be able to file income tax return by March 15. At the same time, the tax audit date has been extended till 15 February 2022. The government has extended the last date for filing income tax returns for the financial year 2021-22 to March 15, 2022.
This is the third time when the deadline for filing income tax returns for 2020-21 has been extended for companies. The last date for filing income tax returns for companies was October 31. The last date for submission of reports for ‘transfer pricing’ deals was November 30.
It was told by the CBDT that in view of the difficulties being faced by the taxpayers due to the situation of Corona epidemic, the date of filing of ITR has been extended once again. It has also been said in the notification that the deadline has also been extended due to problems being faced during the e-filing of various audit reports under the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Income tax payers will now be able to file ITR till March 15, 2022.
Let us tell you that the deadline has not been extended for ordinary taxpayers. The last date for individual taxpayers to file ITR without penalty was December 31, which has expired. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) says that taxpayers were facing difficulties in filing returns amid a spurt in cases of corona infection, hence the deadline for filing ITR has been extended.
