New Delhi: A gang carrying out illegal abortions has been busted at a hospital in Maharashtra’s Wardha district. Wardha Police has recovered 11 skulls and 54 bones related to feticide in a biogas plant during investigation at Kadam Hospital located in RV area. Police has arrested female doctor Rekha Kadam for conducting illegal abortion.
The matter came to light when a 13-year-old minor girl became pregnant and was illegally aborted at Kadam Hospital after taking 30 thousand rupees. After this a fight broke out between the parents of the victim girl and the accused boy. When the matter reached the police, it was exposed and the police arrested the minor youth and his parents, including Dr. Rekha Kadam, on the charge of abortion.
Stained clothes, bags, shovels used for digging and other evidence dumped there have also been recovered from there, police said. They have been collected and sent for forensic examination.
A team of women investigating officers, Assistant Police Inspector Vandana Sonune and Police Sub-Inspector Jyotsna, said that the RV police came to know about the matter on January 4. This team scrutinized on the basis of information from their local sources and finally traced the minor girl and got complete information from her parents.
