New Delhi: Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu on Tuesday said she needs to hone her skills and learn new skills in every tournament she plays this season. The Indian shuttler said it is important for him to keep changing his strategy against every player. Sindhu said, “I need to improve my skills and learn new qualities towards the game. I think everyone understands your game. It is very important that when you play with a particular player, you Keep changing your strategy every now and then. Nowadays, they watch your matches to dominate you. So we need to strategize accordingly.”
When asked about the schedule for this season, he said, “We have a very busy schedule. So it is important for me to stay fit and also make sure that I give my 100 percent every time I go to court.”
He further added, “There are a lot of tournaments to be held from January to December. As a player, we have to make sure that we are physically and mentally fit, so that we can give our 100 percent while playing in any event.”
In her opening round match on Tuesday, Sindhu said, “The first match is always important. So I kept the lead from the beginning and ended it with a win.”
However, he has mentored Srikrishna Priya and many young players.
Sindhu further added, “I think there are definitely a lot of things to work on because when it comes to skill and when it comes to physical fitness, I think they need it.”
