The police have revealed the murder and sent the accused to jail.
Police has revealed a heart-wrenching incident from Gumla district of Jharkhand. Here, after molesting his wife, the accused along with his brother brutally murdered his friend. To destroy the evidence, his body was buried on the river bank. At the same time, the mobile of the deceased was thrown into the well. The deceased friend was retired from the army. The police have arrested the accused and sent them to jail. The incident took place in Rukroom village of Raidih police station area of Gumla district. Ramesh Oraon, resident of this place, was friends with retired soldier Ranjit Badaik, resident of Seelam village of Raidih police station area. Ranjeet kept an eye on Ramesh’s wife.
Accused Ramesh Oraon told that he had a years-old friendship with retired soldier Ranjeet. He had no idea that his friend had his eyes on his wife. It is alleged that Ranjeet molested his wife while under the influence of alcohol. He could not tolerate the molestation done to his wife and he prepared a plan to take revenge. He along with his brother Dayanand Oraon decided to kill Ranjit. With the intention of revenge, Ranjeet along with his own brother Dayanand Oraon made a plan to murder his friend. Ramesh called him on some pretext and made him drink heavily.
Retired soldier murdered with a hoe
After getting drunk, the accused killed retired soldier Ranjeet by hitting him with a spade and stick. After committing the murder, to destroy the evidence, his body was buried by digging a pit on the banks of the river on the way from Dobdobi village to Lauki village in Raidih police station area. Fearing that they would be caught, the accused threw the deceased’s phone in a deserted well, while they took his motorcycle into the forest and hid it. At the same time, the weapons used in the murder and the clothes of the deceased were poured with petrol and burnt.
SIT revealed the murder
Seeing the possibility of some untoward incident and kidnapping with retired soldier Ranjit Badaik, his brother Harkhaman Badaik lodged a complaint with the police. Taking the matter seriously, an SIT team was formed by Gumla District SP Harvinder Singh. On suspicion, the police team detained the deceased’s friend Ramesh Oraon and interrogated him. During strict interrogation, Ramesh Oraon broke down and confessed to the crime of carrying out the entire massacre along with his brother Dayanand Oraon.
