Betul Deputy Collector Nisha Bangre
Madhya Pradesh government finally accepted the resignation of Deputy Collector Nisha Bangre on Monday. This information was made public on Tuesday. Nisha Bangre can now contest the assembly elections as per her wish. He had submitted his resignation about three months ago, but the state government initially refused to accept it. Nisha first went to the High Court and then to the Supreme Court. SC had directed the High Court to dispose of the case quickly.
After the order of the Supreme Court, the High Court had directed the government to take a decision by 23 October. Betul Deputy Collector Nisha Bangre had to face great difficulties in getting her resignation accepted. Advocating his interest, he started the “Nyaya Yatra” foot march from Amla to Bhopal. Apart from these, he threatened to go on a hunger strike unto death in front of the Chief Minister’s residence, due to which the police arrested him. Meanwhile, she stayed in jail for one night.
Congress fielded candidate from Amla seat
Due to delay in accepting Nisha’s resignation, Congress Party had announced its candidate from Amla Assembly seat on Monday itself. However, with the approval of Nisha’s resignation, the party now has the option to reconsider its candidate selection and potentially nominate Nisha as its candidate from Amla seat. On the night of 23 October, the party has made Manoj Malve its candidate from Amla seat.
Decision in Nisha case after High Court order
Congress Party had announced its 229 candidates in two lists. Due to Nisha Bangre’s claim, the party did not field a candidate from Amla seat. In the case of bureaucrat Nisha Bangre, Madhya Pradesh High Court had directed the government to take a decision within 30 days. Its decision had to be taken by the General Administration Department and the department accepted Nisha’s resignation on 23 October. Till the time of writing this news, no statement has come from Congress regarding Nisha. Now it has to be seen whether the Congress party revises its candidate and gives a chance to Nisha or not.
