It is made with the help of jaggery, due to which eating it does not harm your health. It is a traditional sweet dish of Goa. This is a very different and unique dessert. It is also known as Gujiya. Its taste will surely dissolve in your mouth, so let’s know the recipe of making Goa’s famous sweet Newari-
Ingredients for making Govan Navyri made from Jaggery-
-300 grams flour
-3 cups jaggery
-150 grams khoya
-1 tsp cardamom powder
-70 grams semolina
-3 tsp ghee
-2 tsp coconut (grated)
-2 tsp almond powder
-2 cups oil
Recipe to make Goan Newari made from Jaggery-
To make this, first of all, heat a pan on the gas.
Then you put khoya and semolina in it and fry it well and keep it in a vessel.
After this, add almond powder, jaggery and cardamom powder and mix it well.
Then you put all purpose flour and ghee in a vessel and knead the dough with the help of water.
After this, cover it with a wet cloth for a while and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
Then you make small balls of this dough and roll it completely.
After this, by stuffing the prepared mixture in it, prepare it by making it in the shape of Gujiya with your hands.
Then you heat oil in a pan to fry them.
After this, add the prepared Gujiya to it and fry it well till it becomes golden.
Then you make a thick syrup by adding jaggery and water in another pan.
After this, take out these fried gujiyas by putting them in sugar syrup for 2 minutes.
Now your delicious and wonderful sweet of Goa is ready.
Then you serve it by pouring rabri on top.
