Shoaib, a former student released from jail in SS North Hall of Aligarh Muslim University, along with his other comrades, opened indiscriminate firing in the campus late at night. Because of this, a student got shot and was seriously injured. The student injured by the bullet was immediately taken to the medical college for treatment. The firing on campus created panic among the students and the university administration. As soon as information about the incident was received, police and AMU arrangements reached the spot and controlled the situation.
According to the information, in this incident which took place late night in SS North Hall of Aligarh Muslim University, student Mohammad Rehan, resident of Jethwada village of Moradabad district, was shot in the leg. The student was seriously injured due to the bullet. Other students admitted the injured student to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. Mohammad Rehan, a student injured by the bullet, says that he was going for dining from SS North Hall of AMU late at night.
The student told that when he was going for dining, firecrackers were being burst on the way. According to the student, Shoaib, Mayank and three students living in room no. 96 of SS North Hall, the external terrorists living illegally in Hamza’s room were coming and firing indiscriminately. Shoaib was also involved in this. He got injured in this firing.
After the firing, the students started creating ruckus demanding the arrest of the shooters. The injured student has filed a complaint with the police to file a case against the outside attackers living illegally. At present, the police have started searching for the accused by scanning the CCTV footage. Students allege that such firing has already been done by outside students after coming to the campus.
