Elections to five states are going to come in a few days in India. The dates for the elections are out and everyone is ready to put their vote to good use. However, it has been seen that some people enjoy off on election day and do not give priority to voting. It may also happen that due to some reasons they are not able to cast their vote, now one of the reasons among them is the absence of voter ID. Let us tell you that the absence of Voter ID will not create any problem in casting your vote. You can cast your vote without it. There are 11 other documents with which you can vote. All you have to do is that you have to first check your name in the voter list. Check the voting list of the area you live in. If your name is on the list, you can vote. If it is not there then it can also be shared.
If you do not have a voter ID card, it is imperative that you be registered as a voter, and your name appears in the voter list. To get registered as a voter, you need to submit the filled Form-6 to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of your assembly constituency, after which your name will be included in the voter list as a voter. One can submit Form-6 both online and offline.
At the same time, if your voter ID is lost, you can still check your name in the list by visiting the Electoralsearch.in site and entering DOB and other details. At the same time, by entering the EPIC number, which is called Voter Identity Number, you can get the details.
If you do not have your Voter ID or EPIC, you will need one of the following 11 specified photo ID documents to cast your vote:
Passport, Driving License, Service Identity Card with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Government/PSU/Public Limited Company, Passbook with photograph issued by State Bank or Post Office, PAN Card, NPR. Smart card issued by RGI under MNREGA job card, Health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labor, Pension document with photo, Official identity card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLC etc., Aadhar card
