In the matter of appointment of primary teachers, now the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Manik Bhattacharya, former chairman of the West Bengal Primary Teachers Board. ED officials have directed to appear in the ED office at 12 o’clock on Wednesday. Let us tell you that on the day the ED raid was conducted at the house of Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee, on the same day Manik Bhattacharya’s office was also searched by ED officials for 8 hours. According to ED officials, CDs have been found from Manik Bhattacharya’s office, which contain important information.
Explain that after the rigging in the appointment of primary teachers, Justice Abhijit Ganguly has ordered a CBI inquiry into the matter. After that the court asked him to give details of the property. Now the ED wants to interrogate him again.
269 people were accused of giving jobs illegally
Let us inform that in the year 2014, the eligibility test was held for the appointment of primary teachers. 269 people were given jobs but it is alleged that by claiming wrong question, number one was increased in the answer sheet of all of them. A petition was filed against this in the Calcutta High Court and after that petition, the Calcutta High Court ordered a CBI inquiry into the matter and removed Manik Bhattacharya from his post. Let us tell you that in the case of teacher appointment, the papers have been received from Partha Chatterjee’s residence, in which the papers regarding the appointment of primary teachers have been found.
Minister Partha Chatterjee can be interrogated by sitting face to face
ED officials say that Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee are in custody and are being questioned in connection with the appointment of teachers. According to ED officials, Arpita Mukherjee is cooperating in the investigation. ED official says that Manik Bhattacharya has been summoned yesterday afternoon. Since Partha Chatterjee is in their custody. If need be, Manik Bhattacharya can also be interrogated with Partha Chatterjee sitting face to face. Let us tell you that Manik Bhattacharya is also a Trinamool Congress MLA and is considered very close to Partha Chatterjee.
