Enforcement Directorate (ED) is in the news these days. The reason is the continuous raids on the places of leaders and the ongoing action against them. Meanwhile, a surprising news has come to light from an officer of investigating agency ED from Rajasthan. In Jaipur, the team of Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested an officer of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Imphal and his associate in the case of taking bribe.
Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an ED officer red handed for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant. According to news agency PTI, Anti Corruption Bureau officials said that the officer accused of taking bribe was asking for money from another accused to save him in a case. Officials said that the ED officer had demanded Rs 17 lakh in return for not arresting an accused in the chit fund case.
According to Anti Corruption Bureau, the arrested ED officer was working in an office in Imphal, Manipur. He has been identified as Enforcement Officer (EO) Naval Kishore Meena. Apart from this, his local associate Babulal Meena has also been arrested.
A complaint was given by the complainant that in the chit fund case registered in the office of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Imphal, Rs 17 lakh was demanded in return for closing the case against him, not confiscating the property and not arresting him. This demand was made by accused enforcement officer Naval Kishore Meena. He was constantly harassing me for money.
In this case, Bureau officials verified the complaint against the officer of the investigating agency and on Thursday arrested the accused officer Naval Kishore Meena alias NK Meena from Jaipur. During this time, he was arrested while taking a bribe amount of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant through his associate Babulal Meena alias Dinesh.
According to the information, the accused officer Naval Kishore is originally a resident of Vimalpura village of Bassi. Whereas, his colleague Babulal is working as Junior Assistant in Sub Registrar Office-Mundawar.
