New Delhi: A video of IIT Kanpur Professor Laxmidhar Behera, who was recently appointed as the Director of IIT Mandi, is viral on social media, in which he is claiming that he has driven away evil spirits by chanting mantras.
According to the website of IIT Kanpur, Behera is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Behera, who holds a PhD from IIT Delhi and a post doctorate degree from the German National Center for Information Technology, is an expert in robotics and artificial intelligence.
In this five-minute video, Behera recalls how he went to Chennai in 1993 to help a friend who was actually in distress as his family was haunted by ghosts, Indian Express reported.
In the video he can also be heard saying that he had started practicing the thoughts and knowledge as told in the Bhagavad Gita along with chanting the ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ mantra and teaching his friend about the holy power. I decided to tell.
Behera is saying, ‘I reached his house at seven o’clock in the evening with two of my friends. He was in the Research Scholar Apartment. After 10-15 minutes of chanting, we suddenly saw that his father, who was not very tall, was very old and could barely walk. He started dancing in a terrifying way and his head touched the ceiling. You can feel that he was completely under the control of evil spirits.
He said that his friend’s mother and wife later came under the control of evil spirits. To drive away those evil spirits, chanting had to be done for 45 minutes to an hour.
When asked about this video, Behera said, ‘What I did, I narrated it. There are ghosts, yes. Modern science cannot explain many phenomena.
Let us tell you that this video was posted on YouTube ‘Learn Geeta Live Geeta’ page seven months ago, but after contacting Behera, the setting of this video was changed from public to private.
A member of the IIT faculty says that it is known to all that Behera is a very religious person.
