RaipurAfter a case was registered in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur for making derogatory remarks on Mahatma Gandhi, Hindu religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj has said that he has no remorse for it.
Kalicharan Maharaj had allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Father of the Nation and praised his assassin Nathuram Godse during his speech on the last day of the two-day Dharma Sansad on December 26 at Ravanabhatha ground in Raipur.
He also asked the people to choose a staunch Hindu leader as the head of the government to protect the religion.
On the complaint of the leaders of the ruling party Congress in the case, the police have registered a case and efforts are on to arrest Kalicharan.
At the same time, after registering a case against him in Raipur, Kalicharan has justified his comments by releasing a video.
In the video, Kalicharan has said, ‘There has been an FIR against me for abusing Gandhi. I have no remorse for that.’
He said, ‘I do not consider Gandhi the father of the nation. If the punishment for speaking the truth is death, then it is acceptable.

Kalicharan had praised Nathuram Godse, who killed Gandhi in the Parliament of Religions, as well as said many other objectionable things.
According to news agency PTI, he also made several claims and allegations against Mahatma Gandhi and held him responsible for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel not becoming the Prime Minister of the country (after independence) and encouraging the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.
He said, ‘If Sardar Patel was the Prime Minister, then the country would have been more powerful than America.’
He claimed that he does not consider Mahatma Gandhi as the Father of the Nation. He also praised Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.
Following this remark, the Raipur district police registered a case against Kalicharan under sections 505 (2) (statements provoking or promoting enmity, hatred or hatred between different classes) and 294 (obscene acts) of the Indian Penal Code. Is.
District Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agarwal said that he has received information that Kalicharan has released a video. He said that the police is probing the matter and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
Apart from this, a case has also been registered against Kalicharan in Akola, Maharashtra.
Based on the complaint of local Congress functionary Prashant Gawande, a case has been registered against Kalicharan Maharaj at Akola City Kotwali police station under sections 294 (objectionable act) and 505 (statement causing mischief in public) of the Indian Penal Code.
Maharashtra’s Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik raised the issue in the state assembly and demanded that the religious leader be booked for sedition and arrested.
