According to news reports, the Delhi unit of Hindu Yuva Vahini has claimed on its Facebook page that the group was founded by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath, which Chavhanke has also tagged in his original tweet.
Criticizing this, Imran Pratapgarhi, president of the Congress’s minority cell, wrote, ‘The oath is being taken to kill the Prime Minister and the Home Minister under the nose. This is training to prepare an army of killers. Is a law like NSA made to impose only on Muslims?’
In response, Chavhanke wrote on Twitter, ‘Those who took the oath of Aurangzeb! This oath was taken by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 26 April 1645 at Raireshwar temple. This is not the first time that Chavhanke has made such a comment. Chavhanke is notorious for making remarks against minorities and has been promoting similar topics through his channel.
It is to be known that last year Suresh Chavhanke played a part of the controversial ‘UPSC Jihad’ program of one of his shows ‘Bindaas Bol’. trailer Sharing the hashtag UPSC Jihad, claimed to have made a big disclosure of the conspiracy to infiltrate Muslims in the bureaucracy.
The show was to be telecast on August 28, 2020 at 8 pm, but was banned by the Delhi High Court on the same day on the petition of the students of Jamia Millia Islamia.
After this, on 9 September 2020, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had given permission to the channel to broadcast the program, after which the Delhi High Court sent a notice to it, but the ministry refused to stop the broadcast.
After this a petition was filed in the top court regarding the telecast of this program. The counsel for the petitioner had sought several reliefs, including an interim stay on the telecast of the programme.
On 15 September 2020, the Supreme Court banned the channel from telecasting episodes of ‘Bindaas Bol’ until further orders. The court also said that this program at first sight seems to defame the Muslim community.
