The Supreme Court has strongly reprimanded the Delhi government for not transferring funds for the RRTS project. The Supreme Court has warned that if this fund is not transferred within a week, then a direct order will be given to transfer the advertisement fund of Delhi Government to the RRTS project. The court said that the Delhi government should immediately take cognizance of this order.
The court also said that we are bound to give instructions to transfer the funds allocated to fulfill the purposes of the advertisement to the concerned project. The court also mentioned that on the request of the senior lawyer, we are extending this order for a further period of one week. The court said in clear words that the funds should be transferred within a week.
Delhi-UP government has to give funds
The Supreme Court said that if funds are not released in the meantime, our order will be implemented automatically. The court has also commented that there is a budget of crores for your advertisement but there is no money for the RRTS project. The court has already reprimanded the Delhi government in this regard. Along with Delhi, UP government also has to provide this fund.
Know the RRTS Project
The full form of RRTS is- Regional Rapid Transit System. This project is for high speed train between Delhi and Meerut. The project work is going on. It is total 17 kilometers long. It is to be completed by 2024. Till now, its work has been done from Nizamuddin Railway Station of Delhi to Duhai of Ghaziabad. Once it is completely constructed, lakhs of people of the area will benefit.
