southern Delhi A laborer was allegedly thrashed to death by four men for refusing to drink alcohol on the footpath in K Saket area. The police gave this information on Saturday. Police have arrested two people in connection with the said case. A senior police officer said that on Thursday around 7.26 am, information was received from Max Hospital, Saket that a person named Arvind Sah, a resident of Pushp Vihar Sector-4, had brought his brother Arun to the hospital, who was declared brought dead. Gone.
On reaching the hospital, the police came to know that Arvind works as a laborer in the Tughlakabad container depot, the official said. Police said, however, that his brother did not suspect that Arvind must have been murdered by someone as the deceased was a drinker.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Marie Jacker, during interrogation it was found that the deceased was assaulted by three to four people at around 11 pm on Wednesday night. He said that therefore the case was investigated from this aspect by registering a murder case. The Deputy Commissioner said that two accused Sher Singh Rawat (51) and Anshul (22) were arrested in connection with the case. He told that Anshul revealed that two other friends living in the same area were also involved in the crime.
It was forbidden to drink alcohol on the sidewalk
He said that Sah had forbade the accused to drink liquor on the footpath saying that it might cause trouble to the people, following which a dispute started. Police said that after this Anshul called two of his friends and beat up the victim fiercely. Later all fled.
