Raipur: An FIR was lodged late Sunday night against Sant Kalicharan, who made objectionable statements against Mahatma Gandhi at the two-day Parliament of Religions held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh this weekend.
About 20 religious leaders participated in the two-day Dharma Sansad held on 25 and 26 December in the capital Raipur and appealed to the Sanatani Hindus to take up arms and also praised Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi.
According to the Indian Express report, more than 20 religious leaders from across the country participated in this Parliament of Religions. In the speeches given during this, the leaders called upon the Sanatani Hindus to be armed and ready to establish a Hindu Rashtra.
Sant Kalicharan is a religious leader from Maharashtra who made objectionable statements against Mahatma Gandhi and accused the minorities of trying to control the politics and administration of different countries.
After his statement, Mahant Ramsunder Das, the convener of the Parliament of Religions, had raised a strong objection and distanced himself from this Parliament of Religions. He claimed that it would be of no use.
The event was organized by NGO Neelkanth Seva Samiti and Dudhdhari Math, in which Congress leader Pramod Dubey and BJP leaders Brijmohan Agarwal and Vishnu Dev Sai also participated.
Police officials of Raipur district said on Monday that on the complaint of Congress leader Pramod Dubey, the police have registered a case against Kalicharan Maharaj at Tikrapara police station in the city.
Police officials said that a case has been registered against Kalicharan Maharaj under sections 505 (2) (statement causing or promoting enmity, hatred or hatred between different classes) and 294 (obscene act) of the Indian Penal Code. He said that the investigation of the matter is going on.
Earlier, Prabodhanand Giri, who gave a statement in the controversial Parliament of Religions held in Haridwar, also participated in this program.
He said, ‘I have no objection in repeating what I have said in Haridwar or even before that. All these secular people are anti-Hindu, when someone talks about Hindutva, their stomach hurts.
Swami Prabodhanand Giri, president of the right-wing organization Hindu Raksha Sena, had said at the event in Haridwar, ‘We have to prepare. And I’ll tell you what needs to be done. This is the solution and this is the way for you. Hindus were driven away in Myanmar. The leaders, the government and the police were just standing and watching. They started killing them by slitting their throats and not only that, they started eating them by cutting them on the streets. The onlookers must have thought that we are going to die, we will not survive.
he adds, ‘…. The situation is that either you prepare to die now, or get ready to kill, and there is no other way. So, like in Myanmar, the police here, the leaders here, the army and every Hindu must take up arms and we have to carry out this cleanliness drive. There is no other way than this.
This was not the first time that Prabodhanand has made any anti-Muslim remarks. In the year 2017, he had said that Hindus should produce eight children, so that they can save their society. After this, in the year 2018 in Shamli, he had said that only Muslims rape Hindu women. Along with this, he made controversial remarks about the so-called ‘love jihad’.
In a video made public in June this year, he also made statements about the massacre with Hindutva fanatic Yeti Narasimhananda Saraswati.
In that video he says, ‘If we want humanity to survive in the whole world, then we have to clean these jihadis. Jihadis should be treated. A few days ago someone said that in Islam rapists are born, jihadists are born – I have been saying this for a long time, in every Islamic household there is a jihadi and a terrorist. Hindu society needs to stand up and treat it. Otherwise these jihadis will find a cure for Hindus and we will have no place to live on this earth.
Sant Triveni Das, a religious leader from Chhattisgarh, was also one of those people who asked all Hindus to be armed to protect the Hindu nation at the Raipur event.
Condemning the statement of Kalicharan Maharaj, State Congress Committee’s communication department head Sushil Anand Shukla said on Sunday that the use of derogatory words against Mahatma Gandhi is highly objectionable and Kalicharan should first prove that he is a saint.
