Police officials said on Friday that the police have received information that on the 5th of this month, people in Kundikala village under Lundra police station area took an oath not to have any kind of relationship with the Muslim community.
He said that the police is probing the matter after the video of the incident surfaced.

In the purported video, people are heard saying, ‘We take a pledge that from today we Hindus will not buy any kind of goods from any Muslim shopkeeper and will not sell any kind of goods to them. From today we will not lease or sell our land to any Muslim person.
It is being said in the purported video, ‘If any person has land on lease, then we will get it returned immediately. Those hawkers who come to our village, come to our area, after examining him in the village, if he turns out to be a Hindu, then only goods will be bought from him, otherwise not.
Surguja District Magistrate Sanjeev Jha said on Friday that after the video surfaced, the Additional Superintendent of Police and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the district visited the village on January 6 and took stock of the situation.
District Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Shukla said that on one of this month some villagers of Arrah village in neighboring Balrampur district had gone to Kundikala village to celebrate the new year and had an altercation with the local people.
He said that on the second day Virendra Yadav, resident of Kundikala village, lodged a complaint with the police that Ilyas BDC, Izam, Mojid, Seraj, Fazal, Suhail and some other people from Arrah reached the village and entered the house and his family including his (Virendra) and niece. thrashed two members of
Following the complaint, the police arrested the six accused and produced them in a local court, from where they were released on bail, the police official said.
Shukla said that prima facie it appears that some people have taken advantage of the incident to instigate the residents of Kundikala village to organize a meeting and take such oath against a specific community.
The police officer said that the police is trying to identify those who administered the oath through video footage, on the basis of which further action will be taken.
According to the Times of India, Surguja SP Amit Kamble told that the police had received the video on January 6, the content of which has been found to be very serious in nature.
He said that the police has started investigation and a case will be registered after the identity of the talker is ascertained.
The SP said, ‘The matter is being investigated and it has been found that the place where the video was shot is Kundikala village of Lundra in Surguja. It is necessary to check whether the video was not tampered with.
“Appropriate action will be taken after investigation as the material is provocative and sensitive in nature,” he said.
