Jagdalpur. In Chhattisgarh’s Bastar, 3 accused of misappropriating crores of rupees from the bank have been arrested. 8 lakh in cash, two four wheelers and expensive mobiles, electronic items have also been recovered from the accused.
Actually, fraud was being done by the accused by taking money from the city bank in the name of depositing the amount in the ATM, after which the employees of CMS CMS company, which takes money from the bank and deposits the amount in various ATMs, did this. Complaint of misappropriation of crores of rupees was made in the Kotwali police station.
The Kotwali police, taking immediate action, arrested the company’s custodian and the accused and interrogated them. The accused confessed to misappropriating bank money during this period. On Saturday, the Kotwali police presented the three accused in front of the media and sent them to jail after taking them in remand.
Giving information, Jagdalpur CSP Hemsagar Sidar said that the accused used to work as custodian in CMS, a company that put money in ATMs of the city. He misappropriated an amount of about Rs 3 crore by throwing dust in the eyes of his company and bank.
During interrogation of both the accused, the police found that every day the prescribed amount was withdrawn from the bank and deposited in the respective ATM by both the accused. He said that both the accused used to deposit less amount of their own free will by not depositing the prescribed amount in the respective ATM and used to spend the difference amount for their personal use and pride and honour.
The accused also used to give some of the stolen money to one of their auditors. The accused bought many expensive items with the money of this misappropriation. He further told the police that most of this amount has been lost by batting online.
At present, the police have recovered mobile phones, laptops, smart watches, two four wheelers, one motorcycle, one such and TV besides other items from these accused.
