Wasim Rizvi was the former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Central Shia Waqf Board, which has recently changed its name claiming to convert to Hinduism.
The FIR was registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language).
