According to the report of news agency IANS, Professor Om Shankar had allegedly compared Lord Parashuram to Godse, terming him as a ‘mythical killer’. In his Facebook post, he had told the same of both.

Om Shankar had reportedly written in the post that this would help the SP to get all the Brahmin votes.
On a complaint by a Varanasi-based lawyer, Saurabh Tiwari, he has been booked under sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 153A (promoting enmity between groups) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and information technology.
