Patna: On coming to know about Patna’s civil surgeon Vibha Kumari Singh taking five doses of COVID-19 vaccine, the Bihar government has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
However, Civil Surgeon Dr. Vibha Kumari Singh, while refusing to take the extra dose, has asked to take strict action if the facts come to the fore in the investigation of the case.
The civil surgeon said that he has taken two prescribed doses of Kovishield vaccine through his Aadhaar number and one ‘precautionary’ dose as per rules.
He said that apart from the Aadhaar number, no other identity card has been used from his level.
Also said, ‘Whatever the level of misuse of my other identity card, it should be identified and strict action should be taken. Someone else got vaccinated using PAN card details.
According to the Covin portal, he took the first dose of the vaccine on January 28, 2021 and registered for the second dose on March 12, 2021. His vaccination was completed by March 2021.
According to government records, he took the dose for the third and fourth time on two more dates using a PAN card. On January 13, 2022, he received a ‘precautionary’ dose for the fifth time.
Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said, ‘The administration has started investigation. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Earlier this month, an 84-year-old man in North Bihar’s Madhepura district claimed to have received a dozen vaccines for the coronavirus vaccine.
A person named Brahmdev Mandal had said, ‘I have used my Aadhar card and my voter ID card on different occasions to get myself registered. Every single dose has helped in relieving my chronic back pain. I took the first vaccine 11 months ago.
