Alwar: Rajasthan Police, probing the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl in Alwar district, has denied sexual assault on the victim. On the night of January 11, a minor girl was found bleeding from her genitals at a flyover in Alwar.
According to the police, the technical evidence and medical report do not indicate the possibility of sexual assault. Senior police officials said that they checked several CCTVs at various places from the victim’s house to the starting point of the flyover, in which the girl looked fine.
ANI quoted Dr Ravi, DIG, Civil Rights as saying, “So far no evidence of the incident has been found. We checked several CCTVs at different places from her house to the starting point of the flyover, in which the girl looks fine.”
The DIG further said, ‘There is a possibility that the incident may have happened on the flyover, where he spent 5-7 minutes. We are probing the matter from different angles. At the moment I cannot reach any conclusion. However, the likelihood of sexual assault is low.”
The matter came to light on Tuesday night when a 15-year-old girl was found in an injured condition on the flyover. He was later admitted to JK Lone Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
The report quoted SP Tejaswani Gautam as saying, “A board of doctors in their medical report has said that the injuries “do not indicate any kind of sexual assault”. The SP further said that the doctors in their report said that “vagina and hymen are intact”.
According to the police, they have identified the autorickshaw in which the girl went from her village to the city. Police officials also said that they have questioned the driver, while the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report prima facie did not reveal any sexual assault in the autorickshaw.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed the police to conduct an independent and fair investigation into the matter. He tweeted, “I am in touch with senior police officials, Alwar SP and doctors treating the victim. I have directed the DGP to investigate the matter in an independent and impartial manner.”
