New Delhi: BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has reacted to the resignation of Virat Kohli from the Test captaincy of the Indian cricket team. He said that ‘Virat Kohli has resigned from the Test captaincy. Respect his decision. He made a big contribution not only in Indian cricket but also in Test cricket. BCCI appreciates his contribution. Hope he continues to support the team as a player.‘
It is worth noting that the Indian team had a crushing defeat in the recent Test series against South Africa. After this, Kohli has resigned from the captaincy of the Test team. Resigning, Virat Kohli also shared a long post on Twitter, in which he wrote – 7 years of hard work and tireless efforts to take the Indian team in the right direction. I did my work sincerely and never gave up on it. Everyone has to stop when they come to a stage. Now this time has come for me also as Test captain. There were many ups and downs during this journey, but my efforts and confidence never dwindled. Virat said that I always want to contribute 120% in everything, if I am not able to do that then it will be wrong. I am very clear about this and I cannot be dishonest with my team.
Along with this, Virat also thanked the BCCI officials and his fellow players for their long cooperation. Kohli said, I thank BCCI for giving me the opportunity to lead my country for such a long time and most of all I want to thank my teammates who adopted my vision for this team from day one and Under no circumstances did not give up. You guys made this trip very memorable and beautiful.
