New Delhi: Australia beat England in the Ashes. The series is captured 4-0. In the last test match played in Hobart, Australia won by 146 runs. England’s batsmen failed again. England’s team was reduced to just 124 runs in the last innings. Somehow, England drew the match in Sydney, otherwise the team was sure to be wiped out 5-0. The batsmen failed from the opening to the middle order.
In the last Test, England needed 271 runs to win. Chasing the target, the English team could not do anything in front of the bowlers of Australia. In the second innings for Australia, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland, Cameron Green took three wickets each while Mitchell Starc also got one wicket. Australia had scored 303 runs in the first innings, in response, England’s first innings was reduced to 188.
Australia were also reduced to fewer runs in the second innings. Australia scored 155 in the second innings. In reply, England were all out for 124 runs.
The most important thing about this series was that in the race for runs, Travis Head emerged as the biggest star instead of the stalwarts like Steve Smith, Joe Root and David Warner. Left-handed batsman Travis Head scored the highest 357 runs in 6 innings in just 4 matches in this series. In this he also scored two centuries, in which one century came in the first and second Hobart Test in Brisbane and for this brilliant performance he was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
