7th Pay Commission: After the increase in dearness allowance, the central government is preparing to give another big gift to the central employees. After the increase of 3 percent in dearness allowance, the central government is now planning to increase in another recruitment of central employees. According to the information, after the increase in DA, now an increase in House Rent Allowance can also be announced.
Let us tell you that recently an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of Central Government employees was announced. The government has increased the DA by 3 per cent to 34 per cent.
After increasing DA, the expectation of increase in HRA has also increased. The last hike in HRA was seen in July last year. Then the DA had crossed the 25 per cent mark. At that time the government had increased the DA to 28 percent. Now that the government has increased DA, then HRA can also be revised. If the HRA is increased, then there can be a big increase in the salary of government employees.
How HRA is Determined
Let us tell you that the cities whose population is more than 50 lakhs come under the ‘X’ category. At the same time, those whose population is more than 5 lakhs come under ‘Y’ category and cities with population less than 5 lakhs come under ‘Z’ category. HRA for government employees is determined by the category of the city in which they work.
These are the three categories X, Y and Z. Class X employees are getting HRA at the rate of 27% of their basic salary. The Y category gets HRA at the rate of 18 to 20 percent. Whereas, Z category gets HRA at the rate of 9 to 10 per cent. This rate varies by region and city. The minimum HRA for all the three categories is Rs 5400, 3600 and Rs 1800.
According to reports, the HRA of government employees may soon increase by 3 percent. Employees in class X cities may see a 3 per cent hike in their HRA, while those in class Y cities may see a 2 per cent hike in their allowances. Apart from this, the HRA of employees in Z category cities can also increase by 1 percent.
At present, central employees are getting HRA at the rate of 27, 18 and 9 per cent. In July last year, HRA was revised when DA crossed 25 per cent and when DA was increased to 28 per cent in July 2021 and then HRA was revised even if DA crossed 25 per cent. Now the DA of central employees has increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent, so it is expected that soon the HRA can also be increased by 3 ki.
