With the punishment of former Bhadohi MLA Vijay Mishra, the fortress of his crimes has collapsed. Bhadohi district court has sentenced him to 15 years in jail in the rape case of a singer in Gopiganj. He was accused of raping the singer whom he had invited for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in his own house. He was so disgraced in this case that after gangster Vikas Dubey, he too started fearing an encounter. To avoid such a situation, he went underground and surrendered before Madhya Pradesh Police in March 2021.
Vijay Mishra, a 4-time MLA, wanted to establish himself as a Brahmin leader. But former UP minister Ranganath Mishra had rejected his claim. He had argued that how can a goon who has 73 cases against him, including 14 murder cases, out of which a Brahmin was murdered in ten murder cases, be considered a Brahmin leader. Although Vijay Mishra was crazy since childhood, he used to commit even small crimes, but in the year 2002, the Rameshwar Pandey murder case established him in politics along with crime. After this, he started committing crimes along with politics.

Vijay Mishra had filed nomination on Samajwadi Party ticket from Gyanpur seat of Bhadohi district, while outgoing MLA Gorakhnath Pandey was in the fray from BJP’s side. When Gorakhnath Pandey started gaining ground in this election, Vijay Mishra attacked him. In this, Gorakhnath Pandey’s brother Rameshwar Pandey died. People took to the streets in protest against this incident. Despite this, Vijay Mishra won the election.

In the 80s, the election of chief was being held in Digh block of Gyanpur. In this election, Bahubali Udaybhan Singh alias Doctor’s special Abhayraj Singh won by two votes by defeating the Brahmin candidate. After this, resentment grew among the Brahmins and then to compete with the Thakurs, Vijay Mishra was declared the leader of the caste.

After this, Vijay Mishra started working from extracting stuck money to extortion. Due to this, his image became that of ‘Abbu’ in the carpet business. Even though he was not in politics at that time, he kept the leaders under control. At the same time, when the Brahmins accepted Vijay Mishra as their leader, they also decided that they would not allow any Thakur to flourish in the area. In this feud, a total of 14 cases of murder, a dozen of extortion and 73 other cases were registered against Vijay Mishra one after the other.

In those days, Kamalapati Tripathi was a veteran Congress leader in Banaras. To fulfill his ambition, Vijay Mishra took refuge in him and then learned politics from him. Then with the blessings of Kamlapati, Vijay Mishra became the block chief from Deeg. Then he fought for the District Panchayat and also made his wife the District Panchayat President. According to the local people, everyone knew about Vijay Mishra that he was a goon, but he had some such habits that people were crazy about. It is said that Vijay Mishra did not have any number saved in his mobile, but he memorized the names and mobile numbers of the people of his area.

He tried to ensure that from constable to SHO there should be only Brahmins. For this he also fought a lot. However, as pressure increased, Vijay Mishra surrendered in Delhi in 2011 and went to jail. Despite this, SP trusted Vijay Mishra in the 2012 elections. He won this election while in jail. Coincidentally, SP government was also formed, hence he got bail in August 2012. Then in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Vijay Mishra fielded his daughter Seema Mishra on Samajwadi Party ticket.
Countdown started for daughter’s election
In this election, he was accused of raping a singer. This brought great disgrace to the party. As a result, SP canceled his ticket in the 2017 elections. In such a situation, Vijay Mishra became MLA by taking ticket from Nishad Party. Here, BJP government was formed and the siege of criminals started. The situation reached such a stage that the government was the first to remove the local officials on whose power they ran their business.
