Although Mathura is famous all over the world for its Holi of colors and flowers, but another special Holi is played in Falain village of Mathura. Here Monu Panda walks on burning embers on the day of Holi. He did the same this time. Did too.
Huranga Holi was also played in Dauji Temple of Mathura, in which men showered colors on women and in return women tore men’s clothes.
Many religious buildings were covered so that religious frenzy did not spread in UP. But in Barabanki, dargah Haji Waris Ali Shah was celebrated with lots of colors and Holi, setting an example of communal harmony.
A view of the beautiful hoarding of Holi was also seen in Mathura’s Bachgaon. Here, according to the tradition, Holi is celebrated with shoes and slippers. Here elders beat their younger ones with shoes and slippers as a blessing.
The festival of Holi was celebrated on the second day of Holi in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya Kotwali. In the fun of colors and gulal, police personnel played Holi by tearing clothes. Policemen danced to the tune of DJ in the police stations.
Holi is played with scorpions in the centuries old Bhaisan Fort of Etawah. This time also the villagers played Holi by lifting scorpions in their hands and throwing them on each other.
