Varanasi News: Khadi Village Industries Commission Chairman Manoj Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the state level exhibition in Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, producers from other states have also presented their products in this exhibition.
Khadi Village Industries Commission Chairman Manoj Kumar inaugurated a 10-day state-level exhibition on Saturday at the commission’s divisional office in Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Khadi institutions, PMEGP REGP institutions of many other states including Uttar Pradesh are displaying their stalls in this exhibition. On this occasion, the chairman of the commission distributed a margin money grant of Rs 77.45 crore on the sanctioned loan of Rs 227.21 crore to 2215 beneficiaries of Central and Purvanchal under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program.

The chairman of the commission also distributed 180 electric potter’s wheels in Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Samiti, Marui and Sindhaura. And under the Leather Crafts Scheme, Rs 5 lakh was given to 10 people trained from Central Paduka Training Institute Agra to start their units and advanced footwear repairing toolkits were distributed to 75 leather artisans. He informed that the Khadi and Village Industries Commission has increased the wages of cotton weavers by 33 percent from April 1, 2023.

He said that earlier the weavers used to get Rs 7.50 per lash, but now they will get Rs 10. He told that Varanasi, the workplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has become the new focal point of self-reliant India at this time. Due to the personal efforts of the Prime Minister, Khadi production and sales in the Kashi region have broken all records. Seeing this, Khadi has gone ahead of local and has become global.

He said that the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, through the Ministry of MSME, is working towards reaching every state, district, town and village of the country through various schemes of the Government of India. According to the chairman of the commission, Manoj Kumar, it is our endeavor to set up more and more small and medium scale units in the country. The benefits of KVIC schemes should reach the residents of all the hilly and border and remote areas of the country.

After inaugurating the exhibition, the chairman of the Khadi Village Industries Commission visited each stall with the officials and reviewed the products kept in the exhibition. During this, he also interacted with the producers.

Unemployed youth should fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Instead of looking for a job – be able to give a job’ by setting up their own enterprise. Continuous efforts are being made for this. KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar said during the electric potter’s chalk distribution program that the labor of all these artisans will be saved by getting electric chalk. With this, they will be able to manufacture more and more advanced quality and attractive products.
