It is the occasion of Bakrid and there is no mention of Sheermal, how can this happen. Sheermal is eaten with great enthusiasm in most parts of India including the streets of Delhi. Its taste is light sweet and saffron. Sheermal is also called sweet roti and the coating of dry fruits on it makes it more delicious. People come from far and wide to eat the famous Sheermal of Jama Masjid area of Delhi. Here after eating mutton or chicken, people relish the taste of Sheermal with great interest.

These things will be needed to make Sheermal
Maida (1 cup)
Sugar (as required)
Milk (1/2 cup)
Ghee (1/4 cup)
salt (to taste)
Baking powder (1 tsp)
Cardamom powder (1/2 tsp)
Grated dry fruits
How to make sheermal
First soak the saffron in lukewarm water and leave it for a while.
Now mix flour, ghee, sugar, baking powder, cardamom and saffron water in a vessel and knead it with milk. Cover this flour in a utensil and keep it.
Give it the shape of roti and spread dry fruits on it. Now put it on a non stick pan or griddle and bake it with ghee. On the other hand, take melted ghee in a utensil and after the roti is ready, dip it in ghee and take it out immediately. Your Sheermal is ready and serve it to the guests coming home on the festival and enjoy.
