Councilor tops in property but lags behind in studies

Overall, 40 percent of the councilors are those who have completed education only up to high school. Out of 1420 councilors elected, only 376 councilors have done graduation. And 176 councilors have done post graduation. The number of councilors who have done PhD is only 5.
Lagging in studies but ahead in wealth
The record of the elected councilors in studies may not be good, but they are all top in terms of earning. 40 such councilors have won in the UP body whose assets are more than one crore rupees. There are 59 councilors whose assets range from 50 lakhs to more than one crore. If we talk about the criminal records of the councillors, then there are criminal cases against 103 councillors. There are 90 percent councilors against whom no criminal case is registered. Means 1286 councilors are clean in criminal cases.

14 out of 17 mayors are millionaires
Out of the 17 mayors who have been elected in the UP municipal elections, 14 mayors are crorepatis. On the other hand, talking about their criminal records, criminal cases are registered against 2 mayors. At the same time, 15 mayors do not have any criminal history. Talking about the age of these mayors, 7 mayors are above 60 years. While the age of only one mayor is less than 35 years.
