Scientists warn of dangerous tsunami (Photo courtesy-Twitter)
Climate change Due to this, the danger of many disasters has increased on the earth. a new Study warned that because of this huge tsunami may come, which will be very fatal. In fact it has happened in the past when Antarctica The temperature had increased by 3 degree Celsius. There are indications of this in this study.
Scientists say that due to the warming of this region and increase in record temperature, a big tsunami can come here once again. These findings are the findings of a study in which scientists discovered the cause of massive underwater landslides in the region. The team from Plymouth University discovered fossil and biologically rich sediments under the seabed. In fact, these layers are located hundreds of meters below the surface of the sea under water, which is in the wide areas of landslides here.
Terrible tsunami may come in Antarctica
This new study has been published in the journal Nature Communications. It has been reported in this study that unknown submarine landslides in Antarctica can cause tsunamis, which are a major threat to the population and infrastructure of the Southern Hemisphere. Let us tell you that in the year 2017, the landslide was discovered during the Italian ODISSEA campaign in the eastern Ross Sea.
This campaign was carried out by an international team of scientists. The new weak layers that have been discovered have made the region very vulnerable to earthquakes and other seismic activity.
When did the first huge tsunami come?
The giant tsunami in Antarctica started when the temperature in Antarctica was 3°C higher than at present. The water level in that sea was much higher and the ice sheets were much smaller than at present. Plymouth University issued a statement saying that at present the earth is going through a massive phase of climate change. Because of this the sea water is getting warmer once, sea level is rising and glaciers are shrinking. Due to this, the possibilities of Tsunami coming again are increasing.

After analyzing the team of scientists has estimated that future seismic events in the coast of Antarctica Ocean can be dangerous. Due to these, once again there may be danger of tsunami waves arising till the coasts of South America, New Zealand and South East Asia. Dr Amelia Shevnell, associate professor of geological oceanography at the University of South Florida, said large landslides in the Antarctic have the potential to generate tsunamis and cause significant damage.
