How did Yeats become interested in the Upanishads?
William Butler Yeats has been such a poet and writer of English literature who joined the giants who laid the foundation of Modern English Literature. Yeats’s interest in the Upanishads dates back several decades. As a young man Yeats met Mohini Chatterjee. Mohini Chatterjee was a prominent figure in the rising Theosophical circles of Bengal when she visited Dublin in 1885, or. After this meeting, Yeats wrote 3 poems which were related to India. These included ‘The Indian to His Love’, ‘The Indian Upon God’, and ‘Anasuya and Vijaya’.

This is how it got the shape of the book and the ten major Upanishads were first published in April 1937 by Faber and Faber of London. In this way the information of Upanishads written in Sanskrit was translated into English.
